En Classe: 21 Septembre 2016

Au jour'd hui, nous allons:

  • discuter les questions au commencement.  (You'll also be turning in completed homework.)
  • manger!
  • parler de la culture française.  Vous devriez avoir des commentaires de l'article que vous aviez pour les devoirs.
  • I will be giving you a sheet on oft-used -ER verbs to look at!  This is NOT homework, but it's a handy chart of words that follow the -ER conjugation.  It's super useful!!  You'll find that we will naturally add some of these words as we go along.
Pour les devoirs, nous allons faire de la revue!  Because of this, it will be kind of a big week.  If you KNOW this stuff... like REALLY KNOW this stuff... you can skip the pieces you want to.  But if you need practice, this is the week to get there.
  • Les nombres!  I started at :40, but you can choose to back up to the beginning for a longer explanation.
  • Why Study French?
  • Colors.  Play this game- get good at some basic colors.  :)
  • Introductions in French.  Watch and practice repeating the way they introduce themselves.  :)  I think this will help build confidence when practicing in class!
  • Dates in French.  Listen, and come ready to give me YOUR birthday on Wednesday!
  • Dates in French. More practice.
  • Descriptions.  This is basic, and short.
  • More Descriptions.  This is specifically for describing people!
  • School Items with Alexa, PART ONE and PART TWO.  This is for practicing Vocabulaire from Chapitre Trois.  :)
  • Page Two of the Colors worksheet... Color "Les couleurs" four images and paste the images into your cahier.  For items 1-11, write the proper color on the line.  You'll be turning this in to me!  :)
  • Les Mois worksheet.  You can use this worksheet how you will... whatever helps you remember the months of the year.
  • French Cognates!  Cognates are words in one language that look similar to words in a second language.  Like garage... Garage is the same in English and in French!  :)  (worksheet)
La prochaine fois, on espère à:
  • Q&A.  Gather your questions!
  • We will practice numbers 1-100.  I want to spend a little bit of time on this to make sure you all understand numbers.  :)
  • We will BRIEFLY practice the months of the year, days of the week together.
  • We will open the images you pasted into your cahiers and we will do as much SPEAKING IN FRENCH as possible!  As we DISCUSS, I will write down key phrases for you to put into your cahiers beneath the images.  You will need to be prepared by 1) studying all of your description words in your cahiers, by 2) watching the descriptions, more descriptions videos, and by 3) taking some time to attempt complete sentence descriptions on your own.  I want you to feel reasonably confident that you can pull these words out of your memory banks!!  This is a "Choose Your Own Adventure" type of activity... if you do well, we'll do a one activity; if you struggle, we'll keep working on adjectives and probably have a TEST on adjectives to motivate you!  :)  This graded test will be given to your mothers!  :)  If you want to avoid a test, the choice is yours, lol!
So you know, my intention for the next few weeks is:
  • If we move on, we'll practice school vocabulary and descriptions for another week, verbally.  I'm looking for a GAME for this- hopefully I'll find one, or have time to MAKE one!
  • We'll move on to Chapitre Quatre!  I'll give you a vocab sheet to study at home, and then we'll practice more vocab IN CLASS, using fortune tellers (it'll be so fun!)  We'll be studying HOME stuff... vocabulary to describe a house, the stuff/rooms in it.  :)  We'll also talk about FAMILY relationships.  We'll attempt to incorporate previous chapiters in studying chapiter four... so you can see why it would be important to review!
  • The girls were asking about movies to watch in French... I was thinking it could be fun to rent a movie that we'll watch together... thoughts on this??  I will pay for the rental (it's a "supplies fee" thing, lol) and popcorn, but we should def do treats!
