en classe: 1 février

UPDATE:
Because you NEED this song, haha!

ALSO:

The ENDING for the ABCs is on that song for your video.

***

Pouvez-vous croyer que c'est déjà le février??!  DÉJÀ!!  :)

In class, we ought to have covered:
  • POP QUIZ!  Time!  Format?  I read the time and you fill in the clock!  Oooooh, scary!  :)
  • Inverting noun and verb to form a question,
  • J'aime, J'adore, Je n'aime pas, Je déteste
  • BRIEFLY go over accents & punctuation marks as a resource page
  • Interactive Project: Interview classmates about food preferences.  :)
Les devoirs!
  • Review & Discover: Classroom Vocabulary (Handout).  The answers do NOT have articles (le, la, les; un, une, des) included in the crossword.
  • Make corrections to your TIME quiz!  (Handout).  Draw your own clock and fill it in!  :)  Make sure to fill in AM or PM.
  • Study the accents & punctuation marks resource page and bring questions to class next week Handout)!
  • Qu'est-ce que tu aimes manger?  (Handout). Finish page three by taking the gathered information and forming sentences!
La semaine prochaine! (8 février)
  • Q&A!
  • I think it's time for a TEST!  Shall we??  :) :)  In addition to homework, you really need to study your Chapitre Five vocabulary!  Study your verbs and conjugations!  Remember that in-class tests are 5% of your grade.... not a lot.  Which means I'll put scary stuff on the test.  BUT.  Answer everything you can and I'll grade it-- which means you have MY personal help on rewriting the new test.  Please remember that the take-home tests are 30% of your grade!  Make them perfect!  :)
In TWO weeks, 15 février, we'll begin Chapitre Six, which continues with food and shopping.  :)

Chapitre Sept is "Les vêtements"
Chapitre Huit is "L'aéroport et l'avion"
Chapitre Neuf is "La gare et la train"
Chapitre Dix is "Les sports"
Chapitre Onze is "L'été et l'hiver"
Chapitre Douze is "La routine quotidienne"
Chapitre Treize is "Les loisirs culturels"
Chapitre Quatorze is "La santé et la médecine"

Fun, fun!  This means that we're not quite half-way through the entire French I curricula-- I'm not worried about this.  We'll just keep going for Fall 2017 until we complete the book material.  If you'd like to have a conversation about the speed of the class, please let me know during the Q&A on the 1st of February.  :)  Otherwise, onward and upward!

HOMEWORK - Pick one activity for each of the five days.  Please don't try to get this all done in one day unless you absolutely must.  These activities are intended to keep information fresh in your mind- don't rob yourself of that opportunity.  :)

1) Worksheet - Telling time in French crossword.  :)  I included the answer key stapled on...  Struggle through and do everything you can!  Girls, work independently initially, then if you want to collaborate to get the answers before opening the answer key, great!  Take the opportunity to use the answer key to LEARN!  :)  If you have something you just don't get, bring it to class next week.

2) Take the feedback from your être and aller quizzes and review them, memorize them!  :)  You need this knowledge because we'll be adding in -er verbs (next week?)

3) Go to THIS YOUTUBE WEBSITE and practice greetings in French.  If you want extra help, GO TO THIS SONG.  :)
