En classe!
- Q&A, turn in homework/books (If you have ANYTHING that is homework, I now have it set up that I can enter in your stuff and have an instant rated grade, yay! :) All of your homework/tests are graded and ready to pass back, so we'll sort through those. :)
- Pass out homework stuff for the upcoming week!
- Go over a new verb: prendre (-re verbs).
Homework:
- Vocabulaire! Chapitre 5, can you believe it? :) Go through and translate French --> English using the vocab handout!
- I just found that if you go to THIS SITE, you can use Google translate more like a French/English, English/French dictionary! Much more helpful! Put in your word as usual, and scroll down for multiple meanings. If there's nothing more than a link on the left, CLICK THAT WORD LINK! It'll bring up the multiple meanings.
- To try it, type in "la caisse" from chapitre trois. When it comes up translate, it'll say, "the box," but ACTUALLY the word we're looking for for chapitre trois is "cash register." If you click on "la caisse" on the left, under the translate boxes, it'll bring up a whole LIST of meanings. (And FYI, la boîte is "box," in the sense you'd be using the word box...)
- Once you think you kind of know the vocabulary, go HERE and play the drag and drop puzzle.
- Food packet! This is a SUPPLEMENT to words you find in chapitre cinq- It's required homework, BUT I don't use those words on tests.
- Don't forget- don't just rewrite the word as shown- find the translation!
Next week:
- We'll incorporate vocabulary, reading, pronunciation, speaking, etc. with a PLAY! I actually bought this resource, so I'm especially excited to use it to reinforce learning! (Don't worry, my shy ones, we won't stand up and ACT it out, we'll just read through it together!)
bonjour, Delaney here.
ReplyDeleteI have a question, payer translates into paying. Why is there an -ing?
Payer = to pay
DeleteJe paie (is irregular, btw) means
I pay
Or
I am paying.
Helpful? :)
Yes and no. It clears up my first question, but now I have another. I see that it's an -er verb, but what I don't get is why'd it go from "y" to "i"?
DeleteAh-HA! It's irregular! :) We'll be covering some verbs in class on Wednesday!
DeleteOne other thing, are we still doing that restaurant thing on the 25th? If yes, are we going to do food? If yes, should I make something?
ReplyDeleteDelaney
Yes! Not this Wednesday (the 18th)! :) And yes food! We're doing crèpes, and the theme is Brunch. :) :)
DeleteOkay, I'll think of something!
Deletehey Austin can you send me the la cuisine thing
ReplyDeleteHi! I would, but the rights don't belong to me! I can give you a copy tomorrow in class though. :) :)
